Symbiogenesis — Animalia
Shibari performance, animal kingdom
2025DESLIZA ↓Symbiogenesis is a dystopia built on endosymbiotic theory — the principle at the origin of the eukaryotic cell: progressive evolution, leading to the complexification of coding systems, as a result of the fusion of prokaryotic cell genomes.
Shibari performance, animal kingdom — 2025

The concept was created by Boris Kozo-Polyansky (1890–1957) and Lynn Margulis (1938–2011). In the metasystem of the project, evolution among all metazoans considers the relationship with horizontal gene transfer and other coding events resulting from the interaction of different genomes.
Animalia is part of the Symbiogenesis cycle, which reads the body as an ecosystem in constant negotiation with other species. Rope becomes membrane, nerve and root: a structure of interdependence rather than restraint.
The performance moves between crawling, suspension and stillness, dissolving the border between human and animal gesture. Breath sets the tempo; the rope only makes visible what the body is already doing.
Shibari here is not decoration but a form of listening — a slow, physical study of what it means to survive together.
